Visa Free Countries For Bangladeshi Passport Holders
For an international trip, the traveler's identity and nationality certificate or, to put it another way, the word visa comes along with the passport, where the visa is a permit issued by a country to a foreign national. All rules and regulations, including the time of entry and stay in that country, depend on the country holding the passport. Sometimes the rules are relaxed in some cases. Today we will know in which countries Bangladeshi passport holders can go without visa.
List of visa free countries for Bangladeshi passport holders
The Henley Passport Index, based on data from the International Air Transport Authority, verifies the visa process of 199 passports at 228 destinations each year and publishes a ranking of countries around the world. According to the 2021 edition, Bangladesh's ranking is 106A, which is 10 steps lower than last year. In this ranking, Bangladeshi valid passport holders will be able to travel to 40 countries of the world without visa, including 19 countries. Electronic visa will be available only when entering the Asian country Sri Lanka. In addition, the remaining 20 countries do not have to go through any visa related activities.
On arrival visa for Bangladeshi passport
The 13 African countries include Madagascar, Mauritania, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Togo, Uganda, Cape Verde Island, Comoros Island and Guinea-Bissau.
The three Asian countries where visas will be available upon arrival are Maldives, Nepal and Timor-Leste.
On arrival visas are only available in Bolivia in the United States.
Oceania includes Samoa and Tuvalu.

Gambia and Lesotho are two countries in Africa.
The two Asian countries are Bhutan and Indonesia.
The 11 Caribbean countries include the Bahamas, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nebis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Oceania's 6 countries include Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Niue, Fiji and Micronesia.
Overall status of Bangladeshi passport
According to the Henley Passport Index 2021, Kosovo in South Eastern Europe and Libya in North Africa are in the same row with Bangladesh. Both countries do not have to face any visa related activities in their home countries before traveling to 40 countries.
Considering the status of Bangladeshi passports over the past two decades, a retrospective view emerges. Bangladeshi passport holders with free visa had the most travel opportunities in the country till 2010 and 2014. A total of 42 countries in the world could be traveled without a visa. In the two years, Bangladesh's ranking was 65 and 6 respectively.
In 2006, Bangladesh was ranked 7th. However, at that time the number of destinations calculated in the Henley Passport Index was much lower than it is now. Bangladeshi passport holders had visa-free permits in 26 countries.
From 2009 to 2021, the minimum number of visa-free countries for Bangladesh was 36 and the year was 2016. The number has risen from 39 to 41 in other years and the number of 2019 is back this year.
Last word
According to the data of International Air Transport Authority, Bangladesh is continuously lagging behind in terms of ranking. From 2012 to 2013 it came in 93rd to 85th place. From 2015 to 2016, it rose from 99 to 98 and 95 for three consecutive years. The record from 2016 to 2020 has eroded the level of rising slightly in the last six years.
