Tiger's Nest, Bhutan's Iconic Temple

Tactsang Lahakhang is one of the most interesting temples and religious sites in Bhutan. This iconic temple amazes the tourists who come to Bhutan. Tactsang translates the name Lahakhang as 'The Tiger's Nest'. This temple in Bhutan is considered one of the holiest places. It is located 700 meters above the Paro Valley.

Tactsang Lahakhang or The Tiger's Nest was first created in 1962. There is a cave here where Guru Rimpoche worshiped in the seventh century. According to legend, Guru Rimpoche came here on the back of a tiger to worship. It is said that an ex-wife of the said king was transformed from a human to a tigress and that transformed tigress brought Guru from Tibet with her.

Guru Rimpoche was worshiping here for 3 years, 3 months, 3 days, 3 hours to subdue the demons. Here the cave is considered as a very sacred place. Famous Buddhist monks from different parts of the world come here for Upasana.
Taktsang is located 10 km north of Lahakhang Paro Valley. It is about 3.120 meters steep. In Bhutan, no trip would be complete without actually traveling to Tiger Nest. The Taktsang Lahakhang Temple was built by Sonam Gielt Sen, a Buddhist guru.

During the Tibetan War of 1644 or 1646, the first prayers and worship of the gods were performed at Tiger's Nest in self-defense. It is known from history that the sculptures that are here were made by Pentsa Diva. These sculptures were made at Punakha Dijong and later taken to Tiger's Nest.

According to history, as soon as this sculpture entered the holy entrance, it said, 'Don't worry, someone will come to pick me up'. The sculpture then automatically reached Taktsang. Since then the sculpture has been known as 'Swabakta Bhaskar'.
Here are some examples of excellent historical paintings. The eight expressions of the Guru and the five main principles are beautifully depicted in the temple. There is also the throne of Tenzin Rabgier in Giulse. Tourists come from far and wide to hike in Tiger's Nest. This place is truly incomparable for hiking. However, there are some things to keep in mind when hiking.

It is good for you to stay in Paro Valley at night and go out for Tigers Nest hiking in the morning. Because if it is too late, a lot of crowd is found later. You will be able to travel in the morning and leave in the afternoon or afternoon. After a long hike, the body feels a lot of pain.

There is also a system of bathing in hot water to create a feeling of comfort in the body. Here you have to hike for about three hours. However, for those who are always accustomed to hiking and gym, it takes 2 hours. Besides, only children can hike here, but in that case, all the children who are accustomed to hiking all the time have more benefits.
The total distance of this walk is about 4 kilometers. Upon arrival there is a restaurant and from there you will be given delicious food. You will also find local food archives in Bhutan. When you reach the top after hiking, as soon as you enter the temple, your mind will be filled with an indescribable joy and absolute peace. As if everything has been touched by the feeling of softness.

How to go Tiger nest from Bangladesh

If you want to go from Bangladesh, first you have to go to Paro Airport in Bhutan. In this case, your time on the plane will be 1 hour 10 minutes and the cost will be around 20 thousand BD taka. After arriving at the airport, you can take a taxi to Paro Valley in 25 minutes. Then you can easily go to Tigers Nest from there.

Tiger Nest Resort is here to stay. It will cost you around BD taka 2,500 per night. However, it is forbidden to enter here with any kind of pet. Breakfast is free at the resort. Apart from this, some more beauty can be seen from this resort. Such as: Kaiyechu Lahakhang, Drakziel Djong. The resort also has free parking.
