History Of Turkey At A Glance

History Of Turkey

Turkey is the most developed of the Muslim majorities. Despite the fact that 98% of the population is Muslim, many of us wonder why their culture, rituals, food and clothing are so modern.
Although Turkey is a state in West Asia, most of its land area is in Asia and some parts are in Europe. Due to which many nations have changed their way of life. Mount Anatolia in Turkey is located in Asia. The country's capital Ankara is located in Anatolia. The rest of Turkey is located in the southeastern corner of Europe. The largest and best known city in Turkey is Istanbul but in this part. In a word, Turkey is located at the junction of Asia and Europe.

Turkey has a long history. Many nations established their power in this country and lost power again. This is how Turkey's extensive history of events was created. From the 6th to the 11th century, Oguz Turkeys migrated from Central Asia to Europe and the Middle East. In 1243, the Mongols occupied Turkey. By 1308, a small part of the northwestern part of Anatolia belonged to the Ottoman Turkish group. Over the next 200 years, the Ottoman Turks occupied various territories and expanded their range. In the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, the Ottoman Empire formed huge kingdoms with about 30 countries, including Europe, Northeast Africa, Syria, and the Mediterranean. This period is called the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire. In all, the reign of the Ottoman Empire lasted for more than 600 years.
Ottoman Turkey began losing territory after World War I. On July 24, 1923, the new Republic of Turkey was formed. Then Kamal Pasha became the first elected president of the country. After coming to power, he abolished the last caliphate of Islam. He believed that there was no alternative to modern education for the betterment of a nation. He introduced modern science based education system by uprooting the religion based education system. He then made some restrictions on wearing clothes. Although it is not forbidden for girls to wear a burqa, it is forbidden to wear a headscarf. He introduced new legal systems based on Islamic Sharia law and established equal rights for boys and girls.
At this time a lot of money was invested in modernizing the cultural world of Turkey. The money was invested in museums, theaters, opera houses and other branches.

All of a sudden, due to all these reforms and policy changes, the critics of Kamal Pasha also increased a lot. The Muslims of that time in Turkey, who were governed by Sharia law, also considered Kamal Pasha as their enemy. But in this case Kamal Pasha was steadfast. He has worked for the betterment of the country for almost 15 years as the President.
Since the Second World War, the country's industrial, commercial, government and professional services have expanded and modern Turkey has gradually emerged. Finally, we can say that Turkey has a history of about five thousand years. There are monuments to Islam and Christianity, ruins of the famous city of Troy, and many architectures left behind by the Ottoman dynasty, one of the most powerful in the world.
